Federal narcotics agents conducted a drug trafficking raid in Adams County, Colo., leading to the arrest of approximately 50 individuals who are in the country illegally. Many of those arrested are linked to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The suspects are currently in DEA and ICE custody. The raid took place early Sunday morning at a warehouse after a federal search warrant was obtained. According to DEA Rocky Mountain Field Division Special Agent in Charge Jonathan Pullen, the agency had been investigating the suspects for several months leading up to the raid.
Officials reported that a significant amount of illicit drugs, weapons, and cash were seized during the raid at a makeshift nightclub near the 6600 block of Federal Boulevard. Most of the arrests were made on the top floor of a two-story building, where authorities discovered a drug known as “pink cocaine,” which is a combination of cocaine, ketamine, and methamphetamines.
Authorities also mentioned that the event at the nightclub was invite-only and connected to the Tren de Aragua gang. Pullen emphasized the exclusive nature of the event, stating that attendees were carefully selected, invited through social media, and only allowed to bring their own crew. The DEA, along with metro Denver law enforcement agencies and the ATF, were involved in the operation.
This is an ongoing investigation, and authorities continue to gather more information on the case.
