The Denver Broncos Foundation has made the largest philanthropic donation in team history by partnering with Riddell and the Colorado High School Activities Association to provide high-tech helmets to all 277 high schools in the state. The initiative, dubbed “All in. All covered.”, will see each helmet custom fit to the athlete’s head and equipped with technology that monitors collisions. Coaches and players are thrilled about the prospect of having perfectly fitted helmets that enhance safety measures during practice and games.
This donation is especially significant as many school districts are moving away from funding athletics, leaving programs to rely on fundraising and sponsorships. Over the course of four years, the Broncos will distribute more than 15,000 Riddell Axiom Smart Helmets, each equipped with five-sensor point technology and Insight Analytics for monitoring impacts. The goal is to make football as safe as possible and reduce the risk of head injuries.
The impact of this initiative extends beyond just providing helmets. It is seen as a comprehensive effort to promote athlete health and wellness, as well as remove barriers for students to participate in sports. Schools will receive the helmets by August and will begin custom fittings in February. This initiative represents a commitment to the safety and well-being of student-athletes in Colorado and sets a new standard for sports equipment donation in the community.
