Press Release: Free Christmas Tree Recycling Options Available Across Metro Denver

As the festive season concludes, many Denver residents are preparing to dismantle their holiday decor. For those looking to recycle their Christmas trees, various drop-off locations offer free services throughout the metro area from December 26 to January 31.

Denver’s Treecycle program invites residents to dispose of their trees responsibly, turning them into mulch for community use later in the year. To participate, individuals are reminded to remove all decorations, ties, and stands prior to drop-off. Tree drop-off sites in Denver include the Cherry Creek Transfer Station, Havana Nursery, and Central Platte Campus during weekdays, while several additional sites are available on Saturdays, notably at Sloan’s Lake Park and John F. Kennedy High School.

Aurora residents can enjoy similar recycling options from December 26 to January 6, with locations at Del Mar Park and Olympic Park. Again, compliance with removal of decorations and stands is required, and no artificial trees will be accepted.

In Lakewood, trees can be dropped off from December 26 to January 5 at the Greenhouse on West Yale Ave. Residents are advised to comply with similar guidelines on tree preparation. For Littleton inhabitants, tree disposal is available at Cornerstone Park until January 10, and the South Suburban Parks and Recreation area is also collecting trees at the Willow Spring Service Center.

Other surrounding cities are also providing free drop-off points for Christmas tree recycling, so residents are encouraged to check their local municipality’s website for specific details. This community effort not only promotes environmental sustainability but also facilitates the transformation of holiday waste into a valuable resource for the public.
