Development plans for Denver’s Ball Arena include a hotel and concert venue.

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment has unveiled plans for a multi-use development around Ball Arena in downtown Denver, including a hotel, residential buildings, and a concert venue. The project, covering 56 acres of land, will feature up to 6,000 housing units with 18% designated as affordable housing, along with a recreation center, retail space, and a park with trails around the arena.

The proposed development, located near Ball Arena, will also include a pedestrian bridge connecting it to Lower Downtown. KSE’s senior vice president of development, Matt Mahoney, explained that feedback from the city will help determine the final outcome of the project.

The performance venue within the development is expected to have around 5,000 seats and complement the existing 20,000-seat Ball Arena. The concept plan still needs administrative approval from the city before KSE can move forward with site development plans and permits.

The Kroenkes own 80% of the project area, with other stakeholders having interests in the land. In 2024, a deal was signed tying the Nuggets and Avalanche franchises to Ball Arena and the surrounding land until 2050. The Denver City Council previously approved a large-scale redevelopment of the site.
