Angulo was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a metal barrier on the Rumiñahui highway southeast of Quito, resulting in the deaths of the driver and his former youth teammate, Roberto Cabezas.
Angulo sustained severe head injuries and a lung contusion, leading to an artificial coma. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday night. The Ecuadorian Football Association expressed their grief, stating that Angulo “defended the colors of our country” and was known for his dedication to the game. They praised him as not only a talented player but also as a great teammate.

Angulo began his professional career with L.D.U. Quito on loan from FC Cincinnati and represented Ecuador at various youth levels, making his senior debut in 2022.
