Press Release: Two Men Shot in Aurora; One Fatality Reported
Aurora, CO – In the early hours of Sunday morning, tragedy struck outside the Oasis Bar and Grill when a shooting left one man dead and another critically injured. At approximately 2:17 a.m., Aurora Police responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of the establishment located at 15064 E Mississippi Ave. Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other was hospitalized with serious injuries. By 8:20 a.m., police confirmed that one of the men had succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and authorities are actively investigating the incident. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
The Oasis Bar and Grill, which closes at 2 a.m., expressed deep sorrow over the incident. “Our hearts are with everyone impacted, and we remain committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all,” the owners said in a statement.
In a separate incident occurring just an hour later at 3:17 a.m., another shooting took place at 11537 Highline Pl., resulting in another man being transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police detained several individuals, including a suspected shooter, though no arrests have been made. Authorities noted that all parties involved in this second shooting were known to each other.
