Denver City Opens Survey to Gather Ideas for Future Park Hill Park

The City of Denver is seeking public input for the design of a new massive public park in the Park Hill neighborhood. The 155-acre property was previously the Park Hill Golf Course, and after years of debate, the city acquired the land earlier this year for public use. This came after voters rejected a development plan in 2023. Denver Parks and Recreation is now asking for community ideas on how to transform the land, with possibilities ranging from walking trails to recreational centers.

Residents and neighborhood leaders are excited about the project, seeing it as a historic opportunity to create a space for the community. Ideas for the park include sports fields, pools, dog parks, and gathering areas. Some residents hope for a focus on nature and sustainability, providing a space for families to enjoy and connect with wildlife. While the park is currently closed to the public, parts may open for passive use in the coming months, with a full build-out expected to take several years.

The city is encouraging residents to get involved and share their feedback through a citywide survey and upcoming events. A Youth and Family Field Day scheduled in April will provide an opportunity for residents to meet the planning team and share their ideas in person. Denver Parks and Recreation emphasizes the importance of community input in shaping this large-scale park development project.
