The Milwaukee Brewers dominated the Colorado Rockies with a 17-2 win at Coors Field on Wednesday night. Jackson Chourio led the charge with a home run and a double, driving in five runs. The Brewers secured their first series win at Coors Field since 2018 by taking the opening two games against Colorado.
Brice Turang continued his impressive hitting streak with two singles, extending his streak to 12 games. William Contreras also contributed with a two-run homer in a five-run third inning that broke open the game. Chourio added a three-run shot in a five-run fifth inning.
Reliever Seth Halvorsen had a rocky ninth inning, allowing multiple runs on errors and a two-run homer by Christian Yelich as Milwaukee scored seven times in the inning. Grant Anderson earned the win for the Brewers in relief.
On the Rockies side, Ryan McMahon homered but the team struggled defensively, committing four errors in the game. Starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela couldn’t contain the Brewers’ offense, giving up nine runs over 4 1/3 innings.
The Rockies honored former major league players Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco, who tragically passed away in a nightclub roof collapse in the Dominican Republic. The series continues with Ryan Feltner pitching for Colorado and Quinn Priester making his debut for Milwaukee on Thursday.
