A 23-year-old man from Maryland, Dinari McAlmont, was found dead in the Bahamas while vacationing with his family. His body was discovered near the Atlantis Bahamas resort on Paradise Island, badly beaten with signs of trauma. His mother, Michelle McAlmont, is seeking justice for her son and believes foul play was involved.
Shanta Knowles, the commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, stated that they are investigating the incident and waiting for autopsy results to determine the cause of death. The U.S. State Department confirmed the death of an American citizen in the Bahamas but offered no further details. The Atlantis resort expressed condolences to the family and stated that the police were investigating the incident.
McAlmont’s family had traveled to the resort and he texted his mother indicating he was going for a walk and then to a restaurant at the resort. The police later informed her that there had been an altercation at the restaurant and her son’s body was found on the beach. McAlmont’s family believes he may have been beaten while someone tried to rob him of his phone and are calling for a thorough investigation.
Described as a reserved and loving individual, McAlmont worked as an audio engineer and music producer at Lowcation Studios in Maryland.
