Colorado residents are invited to join a nationwide movement to participate in PanCAN PurpleStride

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Colorado affiliate is hosting the PanCAN PurpleStride event on April 26 at Denver City Park. Denver7 is a proud partner of the event, with Chief Investigative Reporter Tony Kovaleski as emcee. The goal is to raise $300,000 to fund programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.

This event is part of a national movement with nearly 60 events scheduled across the country on April 26. The aim is to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer, which is the third-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. The five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is only 13 percent, but if the disease is localized, it increases to over 40 percent.

There is a critical need for more awareness and research for pancreatic cancer, and the money raised through events like PurpleStride will help make an impact. Nationwide, PanCAN aims to raise $17 million through these events.

The event is crucial in funding efforts to combat pancreatic cancer and provide support to patients and families affected by the disease.
