Denver7 Gives Day provides over 22,000 meals for people in need in its inaugural year

In the first-ever Denver7 Gives Day volunteer event, more than 22,000 meals were provided for Coloradans facing food insecurity. Denver7 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Hidalgo and traffic expert Jayson Luber, along with about three dozen volunteers, worked together to pack food boxes at Food Bank of the Rockies. A total of 816 boxes were packed, totaling more than 27,000 pounds of food. This event showcased the strong partnership between Denver7 and Food Bank of the Rockies, with the CEO expressing gratitude for the support that has helped provide hundreds of thousands of meals.

Denver7 Gives, an initiative that has raised millions of dollars for individuals in need over the past six years, is now expanding its reach to include volunteerism as a core component. By participating in Denver7 Gives Day events, viewers have the opportunity to make a direct impact in their communities beyond financial donations. Those interested in joining the next Denver7 Gives Day event can sign up to be added to the waitlist and receive advance notice of future events. This event was a success in providing much-needed food to those in need, and demonstrates the power of community collaboration in supporting those facing food insecurity.
