A 58-year-old man named Troy Allen Krenz fell into Cannon Lake in Faribault, Minnesota while ice fishing during a blizzard and was found dead the next day. The medical examiner’s report revealed that he fell into the water when his ATV broke through the ice, leading to hypothermia and cold water immersion as the causes of death. Krenz was reported missing by his family and friends when he did not return home after fishing, and his body was found floating in the lake the following day.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources advises ice fishers to be cautious and carry safety equipment such as ice picks in case of an emergency.
