Native Coloradan Nique Clifford poised to guide CSU Rams through postseason journey

Nique Clifford, a Colorado Springs native, has been making waves in the basketball scene since high school. After being named the 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year, he started his college career with the CU Buffs before transferring to the CSU Rams where he is now thriving. His recent career-high 36-point performance against Boise State caught the attention of the nation, with CSU Head Coach Niko Medved even calling it one of the best in the program’s history.

As a 6’6″ super senior, Clifford made the decision to return for another season with the Rams, a choice that has paid off as he leads the team in nearly every statistical category. Despite the attention his improved play has brought to his NBA draft stock, Clifford remains focused on helping the team succeed. The Rams, currently the No. 2 seed in the Mountain West Tournament, will face Nevada on Thursday night.

Clifford expressed his excitement for the postseason, stating that it is the best time of the year and that the team still has a lot of people to prove wrong. He emphasized the importance of sticking together and continuing to execute their game plan. With his leadership and strong performances, Clifford is poised to lead the CSU Rams deep into the postseason as they aim to make a statement with their collective efforts on the court.
