Amazon Prime Video has announced that multiple seasons of the reality series “The Apprentice,” which helped raise President Trump’s profile on a national stage, will soon be available on the streaming service. The first season is available starting Monday, with new seasons being released weekly, culminating with the seventh season in late April. President Trump has expressed his approval of the show’s availability on Amazon Prime Video, calling it a learning experience for everyone involved.
This deal with Amazon is the second prominent one involving the Trump family this year, following the announcement of a documentary about First Lady Melania Trump, in which she will serve as an executive producer. Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, has shown optimism towards the Trump administration and made a donation to Mr. Trump’s inaugural fund. He also owns The Washington Post, which he is retooling to emphasize personal liberties and free markets.
“The Apprentice” was a hit for NBC when it debuted in 2004, with President Trump serving as an executive producer and likely receiving compensation from the deal with Amazon. Mark Burnett, another executive producer of the show, expressed his excitement over the new streaming deal in a statement released by Amazon.
The announcement of “The Apprentice” being available on Amazon Prime Video adds to the deepening relationship between Amazon and President Trump, following the successful deal for the documentary involving the First Lady earlier this year.
