Renowned pianist Lang Lang to kick off 2025-26 Colorado Symphony season


The Colorado Symphony has announced its 2025-26 season, with Peter Oundjian stepping in as the new music director. Oundjian has a long history with the orchestra, starting as the principal guest conductor in 2003. This season features a concert with pianist Lang Lang performing Beethoven’s Concerto No. 1. Other notable performances include Ben Folds, Bruce Hornsby, Michelle Cann, and Pinchas Zukerman. Former music directors Marin Alsop and Andrew Litton will also make appearances next season. Additionally, the orchestra will accompany screenings of movies like “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Pops concerts saluting John Denver, David Bowie, and the Bee Gees, as well as performances by Broadway stars Sutton Foster and Kelli O’Hara, are also on the schedule. Singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson will present a holiday-themed performance. Additionally, Dolly Parton will make a virtual appearance through a giant video screen. The orchestra is offering a pre-sale opportunity for Lang Lang tickets to members who join the Luminary Society before April 4 with a minimum donation of $2,750. The season promises a diverse and exciting lineup of performances and collaborations with a variety of musical talents.
