Valeri Nichushkin set to make long-awaited return to Avs lineup

Valeri Nichushkin is set to return to the Colorado Avalanche lineup after a two-month absence due to a lower-body injury. The Russian forward will be back on the ice for the team’s game against the New Jersey Devils, aiming to provide a boost to the struggling Avalanche offense. Nichushkin had a strong start to the season with 11 goals and six assists in 21 games before his injury.

This will be Nichushkin’s first game since December 31, as he missed time due to his injury and a suspension earlier in the season. The 29-year-old forward was placed in Stage 3 of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program last May, causing him to miss the first 17 games of the season.

The Avalanche have been struggling on offense recently, scoring just two goals in each of their last two games since returning from the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. Nichushkin’s return could help inject some much-needed scoring power back into the lineup.

Fans will be eager to see how Nichushkin performs in his return to the team and if he can help the Avalanche get back on track. His offensive contributions will be crucial as the team looks to bounce back from their recent losses and compete for a playoff spot in the competitive Western Conference.
