A significant atmospheric river is bringing moisture into Colorado, leading to substantial snowfall at the state’s ski areas on February 15. Skiing and riding conditions are excellent as snow totals continue to increase throughout the day on Saturday. The forecast predicts 6-10 inches of snow in the northern mountains, 4-7 inches in the central mountains, and 2-4 inches in the southern mountains by Sunday. Several ski resorts in Colorado have already reported impressive 24-hour snow totals, with some reaching double digits.
Arapahoe Basin received 10 inches of snow, while Aspen Highlands saw 11 inches. Beaver Creek and Crested Butte each received 11 and 16 inches of snow, respectively. Other resorts like Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Vail also reported decent snowfall accumulation. Despite the challenging weather conditions, skiing enthusiasts are thrilled about the excellent snow conditions at the ski resorts.
Hesperus Ski Area has announced its closure for the season, but other resorts like Wolf Creek and Sunlight are also enjoying the fresh snowfall.
