The annual Goldens in Golden gathering took place in Downtown Golden, Colorado over the weekend, drawing in a large crowd of golden retrievers and their owners. The event, which started in 2019, aims to boost winter visitation to the city by celebrating National Golden Retriever Day. Robin Fleischmann, economic development manager for Golden, highlighted the positive impact of the event on the community’s small businesses.
Participants gathered under the city’s iconic Welcome to Golden Arch for group photos and enjoyed various activities such as purchasing official event merchandise and attending the Golden Mill’s pre-party. Visitors from near and far, like Eric and Pam Schorsch from Tennessee, expressed their joy in celebrating the occasion with their golden retriever. Attendees like J.J. Rounds and her two golden retrievers appreciated the sense of community and camaraderie the event brought.
Despite being centered around golden retrievers, the event is open to all leashed, trained, and friendly dogs. The success of Goldens in Golden showcases the power of bringing people and pets together for a day of celebration and fun. Whether it’s locals enjoying the festivities or travelers making the trip to Golden, the event continues to grow each year, attracting dog lovers from all over.
