Grand Co. seeking donations for new animal shelter construction on newly acquired land

The Grand County Animal Shelter in Granby, Colorado is in desperate need of a new building as the county sanitation department requires the current space after 25 years. Through donations, the Grand County Pet Pals organization was able to purchase the land for a new shelter, but now they need help to build it. Mary Ann Kerstiens and Diana Farabaugh are leading the charge to find forever homes for abandoned animals in the area. They have raised $800,000 for the project, but still need $1 million to complete it. The new shelter will be located next to Kaibab Park in Granby, providing a safe haven for animals until they find a loving home. While there are many needs in the community, Kerstiens and Farabaugh hope that people will consider donating to support their furry friends.

Denver7 Gives is featuring the story of the Grand County Animal Shelter and is accepting cash donations to help with the construction of the new shelter. One hundred percent of the contributions will go towards assisting animals in the local community. Those interested in supporting the cause can donate through the Denver7 Gives platform. The shelter is grateful for the community’s support and is hopeful that they can raise the necessary funds to make their dream of a new shelter a reality.
