Accident investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are still searching for the cockpit voice recorder from the Medevac jet that crashed in Philadelphia, killing at least 7 people and injuring 19. The jet had taken off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport and was headed to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri when it made a steep descent and crashed. The crash resulted in a high-impact and fragmented wreckage, making the collection effort of debris a lengthy process. While the plane’s engines have been found, the cockpit voice recorder is still missing. The NTSB is urging anyone who finds debris to contact them. Finding the recorder is crucial to understanding what happened in the cockpit during the flight. However, even without the voice recorder, the investigation will continue and be completed. The recorder, often referred to as a black box, is actually orange in color and may be damaged or in pieces. NTSB chairman Jennifer Homendy emphasized the importance of finding the cockpit voice recorder to gain more information about the crash.
