A record-breaking 750 women came together at the National Western Stadium Arena for the annual Cowgirls & Cocktails fundraiser, surpassing all expectations and raising money for the Stock Show’s Honoring the Legacy campaign. The event, which featured cocktails, a buffet supper, and music, attracted women from all over who were eager to support a good cause.
The fundraiser was chaired by the daughters and daughters-in-law of campaign Chair Pete Coors and his wife, Marilyn, and included guests from various backgrounds, including businesswomen, moms, and newcomers to the Western lifestyle. The event was a testament to the power of women bonding for a common cause and the affordability of the event made it accessible to all.
The popularity of Cowgirls & Cocktails is attributed to the sense of community and connection that it fosters, as well as the vision of campaign Director Angela Lieurance. The event has grown significantly over the years, moving to the more spacious Stadium Arena to accommodate the growing number of attendees.
Attendees ranged in age, from 5-year-old Jolie McEndaffer, a fifth-generation participant in the stock show, to seasoned professionals like attorney Cynthia Treadwell. The event marked a bittersweet moment as the last year Stadium Arena will be utilized, with construction underway for the Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Livestock Center.
Overall, Cowgirls & Cocktails was a celebration of Western heritage, women coming together, and the legacy of the National Western Stock Show. It was a night to remember and a testament to the power of women supporting each other for a good cause.
