Evans’ late 3-pointer lifts Rams to victory over Fresno State – The Denver Post

Colorado State University Rams secured a hard-fought 69-64 victory over Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday night, thanks to Kyan Evans’ clutch 3-pointer in the final minute. The win marked the Rams’ third consecutive victory and extended their winning streak against Fresno State to 13 games. The victory also completed a season sweep for the Rams, who had previously defeated the Bulldogs 91-64 earlier in the month, improving to 13-7 overall and 7-2 in the Mountain West Conference.

The game was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging leads throughout. Nique Clifford led the Rams with 24 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, while Jaylen Crocker-Johnson and Jalen Lake chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Despite Fresno State taking a brief lead late in the game, a dunk by Crocker-Johnson tied the score at 64 before Evans’ game-winning shot.

In the first half, the Rams held onto a narrow lead and managed to maintain their advantage despite a late surge by the Bulldogs. Clifford was instrumental for CSU in the opening period, contributing 12 points and five rebounds.

Looking ahead, the Rams are set to face Air Force at Moby Arena on Tuesday. The team will aim to build on their recent success and continue their strong run in the Mountain West Conference.
