A baby Jesus figurine that was stolen from a Colorado nativity scene just days before Christmas has been returned with an apology note. The statuette was taken from the Old Town Square nativity scene in Fort Collins on December 15, prompting the police to share a photo of the person responsible, calling them a “Grinch” who tried to “ruin Christmas.” Four days later, the figurine was anonymously dropped off at a fire station in Fort Collins along with a letter apologizing for the “dumb mistake.” The firefighters posed with the baby Jesus, which appeared undamaged. The police have not been able to identify the individual who took the figurine. Fort Collins Police have not provided further information on the incident. The community is relieved to have the baby Jesus returned, and the story has garnered attention as a heartwarming resolution to the incident.
