Rapper Kendrick Lamar and Grammy-award-winning artist SZA have been announced as performers for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9. The news was shared alongside a playful video of SZA splashing Lamar with a blue drink. The duo will be going on a 19-city North American tour later this year, with collaborations including hit songs like “All the Stars” and “Doves in the Wind.” Both artists have big weeks ahead, with Lamar nominated for seven Grammys and SZA up for two awards. This will mark Lamar’s second Super Bowl halftime show, having previously performed at Super Bowl LVI in 2022 alongside other rap legends.
The halftime performance comes as Lamar expresses his belief in the impact of rap music, stating, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why.” Last year’s halftime show featured Usher and special guests like Alicia Keys, H.E.R., and Lil Jon. It is yet to be announced if Lamar will have any additional special guests besides SZA at this year’s show. The teams competing in the Super Bowl will be determined in upcoming games, with the Eagles vs. Commanders in the NFC title game and the Chiefs vs. Bills in the AFC. Stay tuned for more updates on what promises to be an electrifying halftime show in 2025.
