S Jaishankar Takes Front-Row Seat at Inauguration


Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently visited Washington DC for Donald Trump’s inauguration and met with top-level officials from the Trump administration. During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the strong relationship and high degree of trust between India and the United States, with the Trump administration prioritizing bilateral ties.

Dr. Jaishankar raised concerns about the delay in the visa process during his meetings with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Walz, emphasizing the impact on work, business, travel, and tourism between the two countries. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and special treatment he received as India’s representative at the inauguration.

The minister also discussed the Quad foreign ministers’ meeting held on the first day of the new administration, stating that the US is keen to expand the scope and scale of the Quad partnership in the Indo-Pacific region.
