President Donald Trump wasted no time in undoing the previous administration’s policies by signing a series of executive orders and actions. Among his actions, Trump rescinded 78 executive orders, actions, and memorandums put in place by President Biden. He also issued pardons for those involved in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attack.
In a move to honor “American greatness,” Trump will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America and change the name of Denali back to Mount McKinley. He withdrew the U.S. from the World Health Organization and declared a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border to restrict immigration flow.
Economic policies included easing regulations on oil and gas production, addressing trade deficits, and implementing an “America First Trade Policy.” Trump also focused on ending diversity, equity, inclusion programs, and recognizing only two sexes based on physical characteristics.
In the energy sector, Trump declared an energy emergency, promising to boost drilling and eliminate electric vehicle mandates. He also signed orders halting new regulations, freezing federal hiring, and requiring full-time in-person work for federal employees.
Additionally, Trump nominated and appointed senior officials across the federal government, effectively taking control of the government. He also announced the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord and addressed issues of free speech and censorship.
These actions mark a significant shift in policies under the Trump administration, indicating a strong focus on his “America First” agenda across various sectors.
