Over fifty people gathered in Tallahassee for a symbolic march to the Florida State Capitol to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In Sarasota, attendees were recognized at the 44th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast, with Dannie Brown receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. More than a hundred people also participated in the annual MLK Day march in Springfield, IL, and in Cincinnati, OH, where the 50th annual march was held downtown and led by Rev. Jonathan Bradner and Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Kearney. The march was sponsored by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Coalition.
In Newark, NJ, marchers participated in the Martin Luther King March Of Resistance, while in South Bend, IN, Ben Williams prayed during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Recognition Breakfast. The events highlighted the significance and impact of Dr. King’s legacy on communities across the country, emphasizing themes of equality, social justice, and community service. The marches and breakfast events brought people together to honor Dr. King’s memory and reflect on the ongoing work toward achieving his dream of equality and justice for all.
