A 2.8 magnitude earthquake hit the Richmond, Virginia area, with the epicenter located six miles northwest of Glen Allen. The quake occurred at a depth of about seven miles and caused light to moderate shaking as far southwest as Blacksburg and northwest as Harrisonburg. No damage or injuries have been reported so far. Residents in Richmond and Henrico County felt the shaking, with hundreds reporting their experiences.
