Tragic Stabbing Incident Claims Life of Phoenix Flight Attendant in Downtown Denver

Denver, CO – A tragic weekend in downtown Denver has left a Phoenix-based flight attendant and another victim dead following a series of stabbings in the bustling 16th Street Mall area. Celinda Levno, 71, was in the city on a layover when she was fatally attacked on Saturday evening. She succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital early Sunday morning.

The violence unfolded over two days with four stabbings reported, according to the Denver Police Department. The second victim, a man who has yet to be identified, was stabbed around 8 p.m. on Sunday night. Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the attacks, although their identity has not yet been disclosed.

Levno, who commenced her career with America West Airlines in 1989, later became part of American Airlines following a merger. Both the airline and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants expressed their grief over her senseless death. "Celinda’s love for her horses, friends, and family will always be remembered,” the association stated, extending support to her family and colleagues.

Denver Police reported that the stabbings appeared unrelated to the suspect, with no known motive yet identified. Three of the stabbings occurred on Saturday evening, one resulting in a fatality, while the others involved non-life-threatening injuries.

In response to the violence, American Airlines announced a temporary relocation of their crews in the area for safety. Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas confirmed an ongoing investigation and urged the community for any further information that could assist with the case.

This devastating incident has left the flight attendant community mourning and raised concerns about safety in public spaces. The case remains under investigation, with authorities expected to release more information soon.
