Snowfall Will Persist in the Colorado Mountains

Heavy Snowfall Continues Across Colorado Mountains Amid Winter Weather Advisory

Snowfall continues to blanket the Colorado mountains as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Park and Elkhead Mountains, the Flattops, and the Front Range. This advisory will last through Saturday night, with wind gusts reaching up to 45 mph contributing to challenging travel conditions due to blowing and drifting snow across mountain passes.

On Saturday, cloud cover is expected to increase, with the possibility of light flurries across the plains and along the Palmer Divide. In the Denver metro area, it will be breezy, with wind gusts around 30 mph, and daytime temperatures will range from the upper 30s to low 40s. However, a significant drop in temperature is anticipated Saturday afternoon, with readings expected to fall to around 32 degrees by 5 PM.

The storm system is forecasted to clear Saturday night, leading to gradual improvement in road conditions by Sunday morning. The current frigid trend will persist into the next week, with Sunday’s highs remaining in the 30s. Chilly weather will continue on Monday and Tuesday, but a slight warm-up is expected on Wednesday, bringing temperatures into the mid-40s.

By Thursday, temperatures may rise above normal, reaching the low 50s. However, as the weekend approaches, another storm system is predicted to arrive, potentially bringing colder weather and a chance for snow, with daytime highs plunging back into the 20s.
