Teenager Killed in Aurora Home Invasion Identified

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has identified 16-year-old Audrina Fedelina Arrington as the victim of a tragic shooting during a home invasion at an apartment complex in Aurora early Tuesday morning. Emergency services were alerted around 6:15 a.m. to reports of gunfire at the residence located in the 10600 block of East Jewell Avenue. Arrington was found critically injured from a gunshot wound and subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Aurora Police Captain Marc Paolino reported that two men forcibly entered the apartment, leading to a violent confrontation that resulted in multiple shots being fired. Eyewitness accounts describe a chaotic scene, with residents hearing the gunshots and witnessing individuals fleeing from the apartment. One witness recounted a distraught male exiting the building, exclaiming, "They shot my baby."

As of now, authorities have not made any arrests nor provided descriptions of the suspects involved. The investigation is ongoing, and the coroner’s office remains focused on uncovering the circumstances surrounding Arrington’s untimely death.

Arrington, a student at Denver North High School, was remembered fondly by her family and friends. A GoFundMe page established in her honor aims to raise $4,500, underscoring the impact she had on her community: "She touched many lives and loved everyone unconditionally," the campaign noted.

In response to the tragedy, Denver Public Schools announced they are providing counseling and mental health support for students and staff affected by the news. They expressed deep sorrow for Arrington’s passing and extended condolences to her family, recognizing the emotional toll on the community.

Local authorities encourage anyone with information about the incident to reach out to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, where tips can remain anonymous.
