Hope House Colorado Receives $19,000 Donation from Local Teen’s Initiative
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — In a heartwarming act of generosity, Hope House Colorado has received a substantial $19,000 donation, a contribution that Director of Partnerships Jenny Macias describes as “totally shocking.” For over two decades, the organization has been pivotal in empowering teen mothers across the Denver metro area through essential support and resources.
Myra Gutzmer, a recipient of Hope House’s services, shared her gratitude: “They’re so valuable. It honestly feels like a second home.” This impactful donation was made possible through the efforts of Jackson Pugh, a student from Chatfield Senior High School, who is also a member of Guys Who Give, a charitable group in Jefferson County focused on raising funds for local nonprofits.
Each quarter, the group encourages members to donate $100 and vote on a charity to support. This time, Pugh’s passionate pitch for Hope House resonated with his peers, leading to the collective fundraising exceeding $19,000, bolstered by the generosity of an anonymous donor.
The donation was ceremoniously delivered during Hope House’s annual Christmas Shop on December 14, highlighting the spirit of community and support for teen moms. Gutzmer expressed her appreciation for the commitment to self-sufficiency and well-being among these young mothers.
Macias shared her excitement about the potential impact of the funds, stating that they will allow Hope House to serve even more families in need. This year alone, the organization reached a record 270 teen moms, underscoring the importance of community support in creating success stories.
