Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in the death of at least 28 Palestinians, with 13 people killed in an airstrike on a house in Deir al-Balah and eight people, including four children, killed at a school used as a shelter for displaced Palestinians. There were also casualties in Rafah and Gaza City. The Gaza health ministry reported that 45,259 Palestinians have been killed and 107,627 injured since October 2023.

Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups have indicated a potential agreement to end the war. Talks between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the US, have shown progress. Meanwhile, Turkey expects Syrian forces to push Kurdish YPG fighters out of northeastern Syria.

Israeli forces have detained six Palestinians in the West Bank, amidst reports of house demolitions and arbitrary detentions. Human rights groups have raised concerns about mistreatment of detainees.

In a separate development, Israeli forces have allegedly targeted the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza, hampering medical aid efforts. The US military mistakenly shot down one of its own aircraft, while carrying out airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. Turkey has expressed concerns about Kurdish groups in Syria.

The UN has warned about the plight of Palestinians living in makeshift shelters during winter. Nearly 2 million Palestinians have been displaced due to the conflict in Gaza.
