Aurora Resident Displays 110,000 Lights to Support Autism Society of Colorado

Community Spirit Shines Bright in Aurora with Holiday Light Display

AURORA, Colo. — Corey "Claus" Christiansen has taken his annual holiday light display to new heights this year, showcasing a dazzling array of 110,000 lights at his home in Aurora. This spectacular display, dubbed "It’s a Wonderful Light," reflects Christiansen’s love for Christmas and his commitment to supporting families affected by autism.

For Christiansen, the joy of holiday lights runs deep, as he passionately dedicates 200 hours each year to create a festive atmosphere that brings smiles to visitors. The father of two children diagnosed with autism, Christiansen knows firsthand the challenges families face in these circumstances. Since 2018, his light display has served as a beacon of hope and support, raising $40,000 for the Autism Society of Colorado, an organization that has provided invaluable assistance to his family.

"Receiving that diagnosis can be very isolating," he remarked. "We wanted to pay it forward and help other families." Visitors can contribute directly to the Autism Society through QR codes integrated into the display, further enhancing the experience while supporting a worthy cause.

Each year culminates in a festive event known as SPREADLIGHT Night, where families from the Autism Society gather for an evening filled with hot chocolate, superhero cosplay, and, of course, lights.

The display is open nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through January 2 at 4822 South Picadilly Court. Community members and visitors are invited to experience the magic and contribute to a cause that aims to uplift those affected by autism. For more details on making donations, families can visit the Autism Society of Colorado’s website.
