High Wind Warning Issued for Colorado This Sunday
In Colorado, a High Wind Warning is in effect on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., impacting the Front Range as strong winds sweep across the region. Wind gusts could reach up to 75 miles per hour in the foothills and mountains, while gusts between 35 to 45 mph are expected over the plains, particularly near the Wyoming border. The combination of dry and warm conditions has raised fire danger across the plains, making safety a primary concern.
The forecast also calls for light snow showers primarily north of Interstate 70, where residents could see accumulations of 1 to 2 inches before the precipitation ceases later in the day. Despite temperatures hovering in the mid-50s, the brisk winds will create a cooler feel across the area, especially in the metropolitan regions, where wind gusts are anticipated to range from 30 to 35 mph.
Looking ahead, Monday’s weather will see a slight drop in temperatures, varying from the upper 40s to low 50s. A chance for light mountain snow is predicted from Tuesday into Wednesday, though the Front Range is expected to remain predominantly dry through the end of the workweek. By Thursday, temperatures are forecasted to rise close to 60 degrees, notably above the typical high of 43 degrees for this time of year.
