Press Release: Authorities Seek Public Assistance in Attempted Child Kidnapping Case
Arapahoe County, CO – The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating an attempted kidnapping of a child that occurred on Saturday night at an apartment complex near southeast Denver. The incident took place around 9:45 p.m. at 8400 E. Yale Ave, prompting an urgent search for the suspect.
Authorities describe the suspect as a male approximately 5’10” to 5’11” in height, of heavy build, with curly hair. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing distinctive orange shoes, black pants, and a sweatshirt featuring Mickey Mouse. Notably, his hair was partially visible through the eye holes of a black ski mask.
Investigators are hopeful that the unique characteristics of the suspect’s vehicle will aid in identifying him. Witnesses reported that he was driving a black SUV, which features a black Colorado license plate marked with the word “watermelon” in pink letters, along with images of Toy Story characters Woody and Slinky Dog located just beneath the right taillight.
