Three Men Arrested in Aurora After Gang Unit Intervention
AURORA, Colo. — In a swift response to an escalating situation, Aurora police apprehended three men with active felony warrants following a disturbance on November 26. Officers from the Gang Intervention Unit were conducting routine patrols in the 800 block of South Havana Street around 8:40 p.m. when they observed two men engaged in a heated verbal dispute, one of whom was armed.
As the altercation concluded, the armed individual entered a white Jeep with an expired temporary registration and took off, accompanied by two men and a woman. The officers quickly pursued the vehicle and executed a traffic stop.
Upon searching the Jeep, officers discovered three firearms, which included .40 and .45-caliber handguns equipped with extended magazines, and a 9mm handgun fitted with a 50-round drum. Notably, one of the firearms was reported stolen.
The suspects were identified as Isaiah Lamond Hughes, 22, with warrants for attempted second-degree strangulation and aggravated motor vehicle theft; Raheim Pure Kyser, 23, wanted for robbery and parole violations; and Adonai Madimba Kalala, 22, with warrants for obstructing medical personnel and communication services. All were arrested on their respective charges.
The female driver was detained but subsequently released after a background check cleared her of any criminal involvement. Aurora police confirm that the investigation remains ongoing and urge anyone with further information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, where tips can be reported anonymously for a potential reward of up to $2,000.
