Families and friends of missing persons in Colorado are invited to attend the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s annual “Missing in Colorado” event on Saturday. With 1,278 active missing persons in the state, the event aims to connect families with law enforcement, support groups, and resources.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lowry Conference Center in Denver and will include a family support luncheon at 1 p.m. Families can meet with investigators, share information about their missing loved ones, and enter details into a national missing person database. A private family support group will also be available for those interested.
CBI Director Chris Schaefer emphasized the agency’s commitment to providing families with the tools and information needed to navigate through this difficult time. Schaefer encouraged the public to review the CBI Cold Case Database and Missing Persons Resource Page and to share any information that may help locate missing individuals.
The event is open to the public, but space for the family support group is limited, and reservations are encouraged. Those interested can contact Audrey Simkins or Melissa McGaw for more information. Attendees are urged to sign up for the daily Your Morning Dozen email newsletter for more Colorado news updates.
