Former Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock will have another opportunity to start for the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day against the Dallas Cowboys. Lock, who was previously the No. 2 quarterback for the Giants, will be at the helm after incumbent Daniel Jones was benched and subsequently released. This will be Lock’s third start since being traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, following a pair of games he started for Seattle last year.
Lock’s opportunity to start for the Giants seemed to come at the beginning of the season, but Jones recovered from a torn ACL and maintained the starting position. Despite being on the bench for most of the previous seasons, Lock now has a chance to make an impression on the field. One of Lock’s new teammates, tight end Greg Dulcich, joined the Giants recently but will be inactive for the game against the Cowboys.
Lock’s brief performance for the Giants prior to Thanksgiving has not been impressive, with a passer rating of 51.6 on just 4-of-9 passing for 9 yards. However, with this new opportunity, Lock will have a chance to prove himself and potentially secure a more permanent position as the starting quarterback for the Giants. As he steps into the spotlight on Thanksgiving Day, all eyes will be on Lock as he looks to make the most of this chance to showcase his skills and lead the Giants to victory against the Cowboys.
