Get Ready for a Festive Weekend in Denver: Upcoming Events to Enjoy
Denver, Colorado – A variety of exciting events are scheduled to take place in and around Denver this weekend, offering family-friendly activities and opportunities for charitable giving.
Kicking off the festivities is the Turkey Rock Trot, a 5K family fun run/walk and free 1K kid’s dash, happening on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, at the Douglas County Event Center in Castle Rock. On Friday, November 24, nature enthusiasts can partake in a Holiday Nature Walk at South Platte Park from 9 to 10:30 a.m. This guided stroll costs $10 and begins at the Carson Nature Center. Meanwhile, animal lovers can catch the Turkey Toss event at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, where animals like wolves and coyotes will be served turkeys from 9 to 11 a.m. Tickets range from $20 for kids to $40 for adults.
Union Station will transform into a festive pop-up cocktail lounge, Miracle at Union Station: Buddy’s Bar, offering holiday-themed cocktails from 4 p.m. to midnight. Reservations can be made via denverunionstation.com.
For those looking to give back, the Giving Machines in Cherry Creek allow visitors to donate to charity through vending machine-style options. The Denver Metro BOMA Toy and Gift Drive runs through December 11, inviting donations of toys and gifts, while the Community Table 25×25 Food Drive is active until December 25, seeking non-perishable food items.
