Fire Breaks Out at Colfax Avenue Commercial Building
A fire erupted in a commercial building on Colfax Avenue early Thursday morning, igniting a response from Aurora Fire Rescue. Emergency crews were alerted to the structure fire at approximately 9:17 a.m. near 11300 E. Colfax Ave., where they encountered a single-story commercial building that had been boarded up. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke billowing from the rear of the structure.
An aggressive firefighting effort ensued, involving two battalions, five fire engines, three ladder trucks, and an ambulance. As firefighters worked to combat the flames, they discovered additional fire in the attic after cutting through sections of the ceiling. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries associated with the incident.
