A heroic act took place on a Colorado highway when Ryan Myrick stepped in to help a driver who became unconscious behind the wheel. Myrick, while commuting home in Lakewood, saw the car swerve and hit the median before realizing the driver was unresponsive. Not wanting the car to hit oncoming traffic, he stopped his own truck in front of the vehicle, allowing it to hit him from behind. With the help of an off-duty police officer and a nurse who stopped to assist, they were able to break the windows and shut off the driver’s ignition. The driver woke up briefly and was wheeled away, with Myrick’s girlfriend later arranging a meeting between them. Myrick, despite potential damage to his vehicle, stated he would do it again without hesitation. The Lakewood Police Department, as well as Myrick and his girlfriend, have not responded to requests for additional information. This act of courage and selflessness in a time of crisis serves as a reminder of the good that can come from individuals stepping up to help others in need.
