Colorado Ski Resorts Experience Fresh Snow Ahead of Thanksgiving Weekend
Colorado – November 27, 2024 – Colorado’s ski resorts are reveling in exceptional snowfall as winter arrives in full swing. Over the past 24 hours, the high country has received significant snow, making conditions ideal for skiing and snowboarding just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Meteorologists attribute the significant snowfall to an atmospheric river bringing moisture from the Pacific, following a prior Bomb Cyclone. The influx of moisture is anticipated to boost Colorado’s already healthy snowpack to approximately 130-140% of the average by the start of December.
Looking ahead, the forecast for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the opening weekend shows a return to sunny skies, with temperatures warming to the 20s and 30s. However, the first week of December may bring drier conditions, with limited moisture expected across the region.
