Travis Hunter, a standout player for the CU Buffs, has been named a finalist for multiple awards, including the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award. However, Coach Deion Sanders expressed confusion and disappointment that Hunter was not included as a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the best defensive back in college football. Sanders even offered to give his own Jim Thorpe Award to Hunter in protest of the snub.

Hunter, a versatile player who excels on both offense and defense, has been a key contributor for the Buffs, leading the team in interceptions and passes defensed. Despite not being named a finalist for the Thorpe Award, Sanders praised Hunter’s talent and expressed gratitude to those who voted for the other finalists.

Sanders also confirmed that Hunter, along with his son Shedeur Sanders, will play in a bowl game for CU, regardless of whether it is part of the College Football Playoff. In addition, Sanders provided updates on the availability of several players for the upcoming game against Oklahoma State.

The CU Buffs, led by Coach Prime, are focused on finishing the season on a high note and showcasing the talent of players like Travis Hunter on the national stage.
