Kathy Sabine Named Grand Marshal of 2025 National Western Stock Show Parade

The National Western Stock Show, presented by CommonSpirit Health, has officially announced that renowned meteorologist and Colorado ambassador Kathy Sabine will serve as Grand Marshal for its 2025 Parade. This beloved annual event marks the kickoff of the 119th National Western Stock Show and will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, starting at noon outside Union Station and progressing twelve blocks along 17th Street to Glenarm Place.

Sabine, who is well-known for her role as the Chief Meteorologist at 9News, will lead a vibrant procession featuring over 30 Longhorn cattle, horses, and traditional western wagons. This parade not only highlights the state’s agricultural heritage but also sets the tone for an exciting 16-day celebration of the Western lifestyle in downtown Denver. "Each January, downtown Denver transforms into a living celebration of our Western roots," said Paul Andrews, President and CEO of the National Western Stock Show.

Raised in Truckee, California, Sabine has a profound connection to equestrian culture, having grown up horseback riding and competing. She brings an extensive background in both journalism and meteorology, which complements her passion for agriculture. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to agricultural education and youth involvement through her active support of organizations like the National Western Stock Show and local 4-H programs.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Sabine stated, “The National Western Stock Show is an event that’s so dear to my heart. I can’t think of a more fitting way to kick off an event that celebrates everything I cherish about western culture and agriculture.” Following the parade, attendees can enjoy the Stock Show Fair at McGregor Square, featuring therapy horses, food markets, and various activities for guests of all ages.
