Big changes are in store for Colorado as Denver’s first snowfall of the season is possible on Wednesday. While Eastern Colorado faces high fire danger, some mountain neighborhoods have already seen accumulating snow. Red Flag Warnings and High Wind Warnings are in effect for the plains due to gusty winds. Winter Weather Advisories are in place for the mountains through Wednesday morning with more snow expected.
The Denver metro area and Front Range could see a spotty shower on Tuesday, with a better chance of rain and snow overnight. By Wednesday, Denver may see its first flakes with minimal accumulation expected. Areas above 7,000 feet, near the foothills, and in the Palmer Divide may see less than an inch of snow by Wednesday. Freeze watches are in place for parts of Eastern Colorado as temperatures drop into the 20s.
Temperatures will rise into the 50s by Thursday afternoon, making for a cooler trick-or-treating forecast but dry conditions for the evening.
