A Denver nonprofit, Work Options, is celebrating the graduation of its latest group of culinary program students. These graduates are now equipped with the skills and certifications needed to enter the culinary world confidently. Among those celebrating the success of the students is Joyia Fabrizio, a restaurant program apprentice who found solace and support at Work Options during a challenging time in her life. Fabrizio shared her experience of overcoming difficulties and turning her life around with the help of the organization. She credits Work Options with providing her the tools and support she needed to succeed.
The program typically lasts four-to-six weeks, and students have the opportunity to complete a core program and then continue with an apprenticeship. What sets Work Options apart is that it offers its programs free of charge, giving students the freedom to gain knowledge, build their skillsets, and become confident in their abilities. Julie Stone, the Executive Director of Work Options, highlighted the importance of helping students recognize their strengths and abilities.
Fabrizio’s story is a testament to the impact that Work Options has had on her life. After completing all her legal obligations and being released from a halfway house, she is now embracing a new chapter with confidence and determination. She expressed her gratitude for the organization and her commitment to continuing her journey with them.
