The Colorado Department of Local Affairs is offering emergency rental assistance to Coloradans who are at risk of eviction and have fallen behind on rent. Pre-applications are being accepted from October 28th to October 30th. Priority will be given to those facing eviction, and funding is available for those who meet income limits and other qualifying factors. Applicants must submit a completed application with all required documentation by the specified deadline to be considered for assistance. Awards are limited to seven months of rent or $10,000, whichever is less, and are meant to stabilize households, not provide ongoing support. To submit a pre-application, visit the online portal provided on the DOLA website. Those facing eviction can contact the CARE Center for additional assistance beyond the application window. The CARE Center is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time for rental assistance as resources permit. This program aims to help Colorado residents stay in their homes during difficult times and prevent eviction.
