African American Women Participants in the Harvard Program


Community activist Fenika Miller from Georgia attended the Power, Innovation, and Leadership executive education program at Harvard University in April 2023. National legal director of Black Voters Matter, April England-Albright, sang “I’m Every Woman” at a dinner event at the Kennedy School during the program. Executive director of Georgia STAND-UP, Deborah Scott, engaged in discussions and assignments with her classmates during the pilot program at Harvard. Professor Julie Battilana from Harvard Business School and the Kennedy School led discussions with the participants in April 2024.

Barbara Perkins and Julie Battilana were seen chatting after a dinner event in April 2023 at the Kennedy School. Deborah Scott interacted with other participants during the pilot program at Harvard for Black women leading organizations in the South in April 2024. Monica Simpson and other participants were engaged in a session of the executive education program in April 2023.

Women leaders from the South participated in a power building pilot program at Harvard University, led by Julie Battilana in April 2023. Overall, the program brought together women leaders from different fields and provided them with tools and skills to enhance their leadership abilities and drive positive change in their communities.
