PUC’s Utility Bill Assistance Program to Extend in Colorado | Denver Metro Updates

The Colorado Public Utilities Commission announced the continuation of the Utility Bill Help program, which provides assistance to income-qualified utility customers from Nov. 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. The program helps customers access energy assistance and resources to manage winter heating expenses. Participants will not pay more than 6% of their monthly income on their energy bill. PUC Director Rebecca White praised the program for supporting vulnerable families and keeping them safe and warm. Last year, 768 applications were received, with 51% enrolled in energy assistance programs and 197 receiving forgiveness credits. Residents must be customers of specific utility companies and receiving benefits from certain programs to qualify. Customers are encouraged to apply for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) to access all available benefits.
